Euroforester Alumni 20-years jubilee conference 2024

Steering group/involved parties:
Southern Swedish Forest Research Centre (SSFRC) at SLU (organizer), Euroforester Alumni (organizer), representatives from forest industry, research and educational organisations (partners and sponsors).

Aims of the conference:
1. Maintain and nourish the Euroforester Alumni network;
2. Promote the Euroforester MSc programme and strengthen the knowledge bridge between the education, research and forest sector.
3. Last but not least, to have fun, and meet old and new friends!  

Euroforester success story
Euroforester has been the core piece of education at SSFRC for 20 years, renowned for long-lasting partnerships and high education quality as witnessed by multiple evaluations and awards. Its success is due to combined effort by teachers at SLU and Euroforester partner universities as well as the sponsors for the international scholarships: IKEA (since 2001), Stora Enso (2003/04-2013/14), Skogssällskapet (since 2017) and SCA (since 2019). Since its start, the programme has produced more than 700 graduates with wide international outlook and good preparedness to today’s dynamic job markets. Many of the graduates have pursued successful careers at the forest sector organisations in Sweden and abroad. Well-attended and internationally unique, Euroforester Alumni conferences are being held every three years, rotating between partner countries and and now we are already looking forward to our fifth meeting. The 20-years jubilee conference will be held at SLU in Alnarp, the programme’s main base.
